Susan Osher

With over two decades of experience, Susan has built a highly-regarded, global reputation as a leader, educator, and practitioner in the nutrition therapy and dietetics field. She is also a registered psychotherapist equipped to uncover and address the emotional struggles associated with eating and body image issues.

By applying a psychosocial model to nutrition counselling, Susan considers a person’s whole life – including past and present experiences – to help clients understand how this impacts eating and affects body image.

Active in her professional community, Susan has served as the Canadian Chapter Chair of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (Iaedp) and the nutrition co-chair of the Eating Disorders Association of Canada (EDAC). She’s currently an iaedp supervisor/consultant and a graduate preceptor for students at University of Toronto.

Throughout her career, Susan has been an advocate for increasing access to community-based nutrition services. In particular, she helped to establish nutrition workshops at Sheena’s Place, provided consultation to enhance the eating disorder program at Bellwood Health Services, and acted as an expert consultant at CAMH in the Youth Addiction and Concurrent Disorders Services Inpatient Unit.

Susan has also worked in the renowned eating disorder treatment programs at The Hospital for Sick Children and Toronto General Hospital.
